Fix microwave sparking and arcing with a new waveguide cover. Protects the magnetron from food splatter. Easy 15-minute DIY repair—just unsnap and replace.
It went very well and the time estimate you gave (15 minutes) was quite accurate. I am a 73 year old woman (former banker) with little technical training. In my day, girls were only required to take home ec. Shop class was not an option. The most challenging aspect of the repair was, due to the location of the shield (right-side wall) my work all had to be done with my left hand and I am right-handed. I am thrilled to have been able to complete this repair myself!! Read more
The Latch Board is an OEM part for GE microwaves. It plays a critical role in ensuring the microwave door latches securely, which is essential for safe operation. This board interacts with the door latch mechanism, enabling the microwave to function only when the door is properly closed.
Over time, the latch board can become worn out or damaged due to frequent use. Common causes of a bad latch board include electrical failures, wear and tear from regular use, or physical damage from repeated opening and closing of the microwave door.
Symptoms of a bad latch board include:
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
Finding the problem was exacerbated by the unique fasteners holding the cover to the guts of the microwave. Once apart using the schematic diagram the problem was located and found to be a failure of one of the three safety switches on the door closure part of the chassis. The failure extends to the plastic holder of the primary switch, so the holder and one replacement switch were ordered. Appliance Parts Pros had the parts in stock and promptly shipped them. They are all exact replacement... Read more

If your microwave turntable won't spin or makes grinding noises, the turntable motor likely failed. Simple fix with basic screwdriver work.
I ordered the replacement motor. I unplugged the microwave. Then I simply removed the turntable spindle by lifting it up off the motor from inside the microwave. Next, I removed the 7 screws holing the bottom of the microwave in place. I lowered the bottom of the microwave, giving me access to the motor. I unplugged the two wires connected to the motor, removed the 2 screws holding the motor in place, then put the new motor in place and reversed the steps to complete the job. Read more
