Bradley D Jersey Shore , PA May 18, 2020 Fan and light on microwave would not shut off. Then it would not function at all. Noted wear on the door latch and the latch board. Before it totally failed you could push on the door to make it operate. After disassembly I checked the three micro-switches, which checked good. I replaced the door latch easily with the help of a video, then replaced the latch board. Be sure to use the little toggle on the replaced door latch on the new latch. I had to adjust the position of the latch board to make the microwave operate properly. Alven B Dahlonega , GA October 04, 2021 The main fuse would blow when opening the door while the appliance was running. I noticed grooves on the latch board where the door latch slid up to close and ride back through when opening the door. This allowed the lower part of the door to open before the top thus allowing one of the switches to sense the door was open and the other to sense the door was closed. Replacing the latch board fixed the problem. While I was at it I replaced the door latch and spring. Now it works perfectly. Read More...
