Whirlpool WPR9900669 Dishwasher Door Tension Spring OEM Part

I watched a couple of YouTube videos to see what to do. The greatest worry was whether or not I could pull out the dishwasher far enough to replace the spring. However it came out just far enough without having to disconnect the hoses or wiring. The replacing of the spring took less than one minute! It is indeed an easy repair!

First one, then the other door spring in our 15-year-old Amana dishwasher broke. After a number of recent home repairs and improvements we hadn't exactly budgeted for a new dishwasher on top of that. The serial and model number on the washer's label had been almost scrubbed off, but I googled for the machine with what was left of the number, and actually found it. And now the was the washer door has spring action again instead of crashing down every time we open it. So the repair cost us under $40 instead of the thousand bucks for a new one. Bought two new ones and fit and work just fine.thanks

Removed top and bottom screws. Removed bottom panel. Pulled out dishwasher slightly. Found broken screw and plastic connector. Put new spring in the reset old plastic connector and then reversed earlier steps.

Easy repair! Removed 2 screws to move dishwasher out & replaced spring. Tension much tighter on new spring so needed to make adjustment to remaining spring to compensate. 5 minute repair!
