Ace Lawn Mower Blade

This blade adapter is made to attach a lawn mower cutting blade to the drive shaft of a push mower. Though it is made of sturdy metal and is tightly fastened to the mower's drive, the adapter and blade may wear and loosen over time. This can present a dangerous situation as well as poor cutting performance for the blade. Also, each adapter has a small insert tab that fits into the blade attachment. This tab, called a “key,” is actually a shear pin. Should the blade strike a solid object, the key will sheer off, preventing the blade from coming loose or suffering irreparable damage. To replace the blade adapter, turn the mower on its side with the air filter on top. Use a ratchet to remove the bolt that attaches the blade and adapter to the drive shaft.
