Fix F1 error codes and temperature control issues with this oven temperature sensor. Takes about 15 minutes to install—just 2 screws and plug-in wiring.

Oven not heating properly or showing F3 error? The temperature sensor likely failed. Simple DIY fix—unplug, remove 2 screws, replace sensor.
Online videos made this seem an easy fix. I unplugged the oven and removed the rear panel, then found where the temp sensor entered the oven. I unplugged the sensor's electric connector. Unlike the videos, this sensor screwed in from the inside of the oven, so I had to remove the 2 screws inside the oven which hold the sensor in place. Fix a washer with no power or dead control panel by replacing this circuit protection fuse. Quick 15-minute repair restores control once issue solved.

If your oven won't heat past 250°F or stops heating completely, the high-limit thermostat may have failed. This safety switch is a moderate DIY fix.
The same thing happened about two years ago and when I took off the back cover, the high limit switch was melted and crumbling, so I replaced it and it's worked fine until a couple of weeks ago. We smelled a stinky electrical burning smell a couple of times and then it stopped heating past 250 degrees. Turns out the high limit switch was crumbling again.
