Sara for Model Number FEB27S5DSF Went to use the oven and noticed that if I set it at 325°F, it would run up to 400°F+ degrees and then slide back down to 300°F. I changed the temperature sensor probe but this did not solve the problem. Noticed now that if I set the oven to 350°F, it doesn't even make it up to 350°F. Would the oven control board be the problem?
Answer Hello Sara, I'm sorry but there is no such thing as an oven that maintains a constant temperature. The bake compartment temperature is controlled by the control circuit turning the heat source on and off at two predetermined temperatures. This causes an "average" bake temperature to be set up in the bake compartment. The range varies from oven to oven but the average range is about 50°, (25° above the set temperature and 25° below). To get an accurate reading of the average bake temperature, you have to take readings at the high temperature and low temperature through at least 4 cycles of the heating element/burner. It does not sound like there is an issue with your unit from the description provided. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, November 29, 2018
