Mike for Model Number Kenmore 7909421340e My electric range tripped the 50 amp breaker along with the breaker panel main. Reset main and left 50 amp breaker off. I checked all the elements and all ohm o.k. I think I have a problem with the control board. Using my tester on ohms I read continuity between L1 in and L2 out. Would this indicate a dead short? I get this reading with all wiring disconnected from the control board - #316418208
Answer Hello Mike, Yes the control board would need to be replaced. You may also want to look at all the wiring in the oven and home wiring for shorts. Breaker box and wiring to breaker box. Check power supply. There may be another cause other than the control that caused issue and if you put new control in without checking all wiring in circuit you may have the same problem.
