Justin Kunak for Model Number PLGF389CCB

I am having issues with my frigidaire gas range.I wrote your not long ago and checked all you told me to check and replaced two items, now it is doing something different. The model number on my unit is PLGF389CCB.At first my oven was giving a F1 code and your wrote back to me telling me to check and possibly replace temperature probe in oven and EOC board.I checked the temperature sensor probe and it was borderline, so i ordered a new sensor probe and new EOC board and overlay for board and replaced them. Now when i plug in unit the board clock flashes and PF is displayed on board.I try to press buttons to reset it or set clock etc. and none of the push buttons on new board work.I tryed different outlet plugs with same results. So then i tryed to switch out and put old board back on my gas range and plug in range and same results, clock blinks and PF is displayed on the board and none of the buttons work on old board also. But before the old board would only flash the f1 code and you could clear it off the board but after alittle while it would come back,it never flashed PF code. Now it is doing the same thing as new board is doing flashing PF and none of buttons on board is working.I have tryed to do alittle research on your site but nothing comes up about the problem i am having. There is nothing instruction wise or diagnois wise paperwork wise on range to help me out.The range is old but until now i have never had any issues with it.I sure hope your can possibly be able to help me out somehow and kind point me in right direction of things i need to check or what can be my problem. Thanks so very much for your time.

Answer

Justin, The PF Code is not really a code and is just telling you that the unit had a power failure, which was when it was unplugged. You should be able to hit the cancel button and the PF should go away and then you should be able to set the clock and operate the unit. The unit will not operate with the PF code up. If you are still having issues then it may be that the board that you received is faulty.

Answer

Justin K, Based on the description of your issue I would check the incoming power for the correct voltage and polarity to the outlet. Make sure the outlet is a three-prong grounded outlet. The PF stands for a power failure and it sounds as if you have a power issue. Once the outlet is confirmed to be 120VAC grounded and polarized, then check the incoming power to the EOC you should have 120vac at the P5-1 to P5-5 connections to the EOC board. If you have the correct 120VAC, grounded and polarized at the board and it is not working then the EOC would be the issue.
