Dvalley for Model Number Sears 417.44144200 After five years the washer fell apart. The spider arm was broken and the bearing shot. I replaced drum and rear half of the outer tub assembly. Then the final spin would not run. I cleaned the timer contacts and it worked for a while. I replaced the timer. That helped for a while but it failed again. I replaced the door switch and it worked for a month or so. I finally tested the motor controller and got 35 meg ohms on pins 1-2, 2-3 and 1-3. My meter has a 4 MOhm range but it would not read. I set it to the 40MOhm range and it read. I suspect the board has issues, but the fact that the reading are 10x the norm nags at me. The rest of the wash cycle and spins run fine. The board is $150. I have replaced so much on this machine and am at the point of replacing it, but have sunk so much money in it that I would feel bad about scrapping it if it would only be a little more to get another five years out of it. New machines have a two year warranty.
Answer Hi Dvalley. The motor windings will never read in meg ohms. Check to see if the motor windings are shorted to ground. The motor is part # 134869400. Thank you. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, October 3, 2011
