David for Model Number DPSR483EA1WW Yeah I seem to be having the same issues as other commenters where the clamp and blower wheel slide back and forth on the shaft. I started with replacing the clamp and now I've replaced the blower wheel. So far so good but I'm thinking it has more to do with the tight fit of the wheel onto the shaft(damn near had to force it on) rather than the clamps. My question is can you explain how the clamps keep the wheel in place on the shaft? From I can see they only seem to clamp onto the wheel and don't seem to function in keeping the wheel from sliding back and forth. What am I missing here?
Answer David, the WE1X688 Clamp and Screw Kit, is exactly it, a "clamping device". When properly installed the two clamp pieces will bind on the motor shaft preventing the blower wheel from being able to slide in either direction on the motor shaft. " From what I can see they only seem to clamp onto the wheel and don't seem to function in keeping the wheel from sliding back and forth. What am I missing here?" Make sure the clamps aren't distorted and sre installed correctly and the screw is tightenning properly and not "stripped". You may want to replace the clamp and screw kit. Thanks, Read More...
