Answer Hello Barry, If the food is only freezing in the crisper drawers and near the bottom of the unit, the issue is most likely the temperature setting. Refrigeration is backwards so think of it this way. Cold air is heavier than warm air. If the fans are not running, the cold air will equalize at the bottom of the unit. This will make the items in the bottom of the unit freeze on the fresh food side and the top of the unit will warm up on the freezer side causing slow or some times no ice production. The cure for this is to set the fresh food side to a colder setting which will make the unit kick the fans on more often and circulate the air inside the unit.
