Mike, the thermistors would need to be tested to ensure that they are registering temperatures properly, to include showing when temperatures increase. If the thermistors test good, and the shut off is during a defrost cycle, then it is likely that the main control is not opening the heater relay during the defrost cycle. If the compressor operates for several hours, then the evaporator frost pattern would need to be inspected as it could be possible that the compressor is not able to get the temperatures down properly.
