Todd K for Model Number csx26mr My Hotpoint keeps freezing on the Ref. side. I replaced the Control Temp and also purchased the defrost control timer. When I hook it up the defrost control the ref. system does not come on? When I plug it back in? Does this part need to be installed and have everything taken out while the new part has defrosted the unit...? 16 hours 35 minutes. Please explain asap
Answer Hello Todd. You will need to thaw out the coils on the unit. When the timer WR9X489 cycles, it does not stay in defrost for 16 hours, it only is in defrost 20 to 30 minutes, and the food will be fine in the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
