Joe My refrigerator has been acting up. The fresh food section is warm and the freezer section gets cold if I turn it up to the highest setting, but on the middle setting it doesn't get cold. The fan is working. I manually turned the defrost timer with a screwdriver and it clicked and set off the heating element. So, I assume that means my thermostat is also good then? Do I need a new defrost timer?
Answer Hello Joe, If you need a defrost timer, you will have a frost build-up on the back wall of the freezer compartment, in which case, it's much more probable that the defrost heater harness assembly WR51X10031 has failed. If you have no frost build-up on the freezer wall, this is not the case. It's more probable that the damper has failed.
