Dave for Model Number dblr333ge2ww Hi, My dryer keeps melting the lint filter...had a tech come out and tell me the dryer is not over heating...he said I should have a metal or aluminum lint filter...does one exsist for this model? I can't seem to find one. Thanks.
Answer Dave, the manufacturer does not offer a metal or aluminum lint filter. The lint filter is plastic, part number WE18X25100. If the dryer is continuosly melting the lint filter you more than likely have an issue with the heating with the dryer. Make sure the dryer venting and home venting is not kinked or clogged. Also check the gas valve part number WE14M114, if its stuck open during the entire drying cycle it'll cause a larger flame which will go into the ducting of the dryer and cause the unit to overheat and the filter to melt. Hope this helps you. Thanks. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, August 23, 2013
