Orrin for Model Number JK2501 The lower, noncleaning oven, still heats but the temperature gauge is very inaccurate. My wife, truly a magician, has "the touch" and can fiddle to a pretty close approximation of the right temperature. I presume, with my limited knowledge, that the thermostat is faulty. I'm not able to do anything more than guess. Questions: is a thermostat likely to be the culprit? Is a thermostat available (not easily found by me)? And is a thermostat replacement doable by someone with moderate technical skills? Thanks! PS: the upper, cleaning oven, element is fried. That I know. That would be the next question.
Answer Orrin, The thermostat would be the most likely cause for this issue but the thermostat WB21X5209 has been discontinued with no suitable replacement available. For the upper broil element the part number will be WB44X173 and if this is in the lower oven that is not working properly then the element could potentially cause temperature issues. Read More...
