David for Model Number CVE28DM5NBS5 the icemaker in my GE Cafe refrigerator has some water in it but is not freezing. It was working fine for 15 months and then stopped making ice. I performed the Icemaker Diagnostic Test (turned icemaker off for 15 seconds, turned it back on, and pushed the paddle 3 times. The icemaker rake never rotated after 3 minutes nor did water fill the mold. It sounded like the motor in the icemaker was operating for maybe 15 seconds but no movement seen. Do I need a new icemaker or is it something else? I turned the freezer temp from 0 to -4 but nothing changed.
Answer David, as the water in the ice maker is not freezing, the ice box fan WR60X31997 in the freezer section would need to be inspected for proper operation. If it is not rotating, it would need to be checked for incoming voltage to identify if it has failed. If there is voltage getting to it, and it is not spinning, the fan has failed and would need to be replaced. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Sunday, January 30, 2022
