Mike for Model Number GE Dryer DLLSR34E Will the timer resistor keep the dryer from starting? I checked the door switch and its OK the timer Resistor does not have continuity, so I assumed it's bad. My dryer when you twist the start switch humms (like normal) but will not start.
Answer Mike, If the motor hums, when you turn the start switch, you're getting voltage to the motor, but is it the correct voltage (110-120 VAC). You could bypass the resistor for a temporary test(attach the two wires together). You may want to check and make sure, nothing got stuck in the blower fan and the motor shaft has not seized up. After you check and make sure there are no loose connections at the terminal block and you have 220-240 VAC at the terminal block. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
