Paul for Model Number lg lfxs30726 I installed a new ice maker, which works just fine, The ice maker dispenser motor does not work. I can turn it by hand , so it is not frozen. I am sure all the wires got plugged in correctly as there was 3 wires and a ground for this motor. When I push the dispenser button. I hear the flap open etc.which makes you think you will get ice-but nothing. The water dispenser works fine. Is there a way to test the motor as installed? Is there a circuit board only for the dispensers- separate from the main circuit board. If so- where is it located? I replaced the ice maker due to a water leak and the dispenser worked fine before replacement.
Answer Hello Paul, it is unlikely there is a problem with either the auger motor or the main control board that powers it, More likely is a loose wire connection to it in the area where you had installed the new ice maker. Suggest you recheck all wiring connections, loose terminals in connectors to the auger motor and if it has an extended harness . Read More...
