Charles for Model Number 795.74023.410 When I plug this sensor in, the lights go off and the compressor stops. When I unplug it the compressor comes back on and the coils begin to frost. None of the fans run either way, Should this be replaced. I'm trying to get the refrigerator part to cool.
Answer Charles, On this model when a sensor fails, there is usually an error listed on the display [ex. Er ff]. This part can be tested for resistance for 7.8k ohms of resistance at 0 degrees and 1.4k ohms at about 40 degrees. It really sounds like you could have a problem with the air damper located inside the air tower in the refrigerator with it not opening. Unfortunately, if that is your issue that part is no longer available. Remember the fans won't run when the doors are open and when the sensor is unplugged it goes into a manual cool. Read More...
