Mohbil for Model Number LFXS26596 My used LG LFXS26596 was cooling very slowly when I bought it, but is no longer cooling at all (barely). Error code "f dS" for freezer defrost sensor shows within minutes of unplugging/plugging in the fridge. I also pressed the fridge/freezer buttons simultaneously on the front panel to display the temperatures the fridge is reading, and it shows -21°C for the freezer and 1°C for the fridge. Used a multimeter on the freezer temp sensor and ohms are low (3-4 ohms at room temp and 10 ohms when it's surrounded by ice). The evaporator coils are covered in ice. Could all of this be explained by bad fridge/freezer temperature sensors?
Answer Mohbil, Yes, a faulty sensor will cause this type of issue especially if the unit has a completely iced up evaporator coil. This means that the unit is not defrosting. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, January 11, 2022
