Mohbil for Model Number LG lfxs26596S Update: I've replaced the temperature sensor and still getting error code "f dS". I had purchased part number 6615JB2005N as well, but realized it is the wrong part for my model. Although the defrost control assembly on mine is very similar, it is wired to the defroster itself and I can't find an identical part here or anywhere else. What do you suggest? Original Question: My used LG LFXS26596 was cooling very slowly when I bought it, but is no longer cooling at all (barely). Error code "f dS" for freezer defrost sensor shows within minutes of unplugging/plugging in the fridge. I also pressed the fridge/freezer buttons simultaneously on the front panel to display the temperatures the fridge is reading, and it shows -21°C for the freezer and 1°C for the fridge. Used a multimeter on the freezer temp sensor and ohms are low (3-4 ohms at room temp and 10 ohms when it's surrounded by ice). The evaporator coils are covered in ice. Could all of this be explained by bad fridge/freezer temperature sensors?
Answer Mohbill, For this issue, the part that you would need to replace is the defrost heater which will have the controller with it. You could use the part that you have by cutting and spling the wires if it is the same part but it is always best to get the manufacturers suggested part which is MEE63545701. Read More...
