Sickegg for Model Number MCBR1020W I have a 10 cuft. magic chef fridge, mode - mcbr1020w, it has stopped working. When the problem occurred, the fridge seem like it's not coming back on from "defrost mode". Fridge light is on when door opens, so electricity is ok. I have manually turn the "defrost timer" to force it back on, it will run for 1.5 days or about 36 hours fine, then shut off again. After researches, I knew the defected part should be the defrost timer got stuck in defrost mode. So I ordered it from another site, replaced it. Same symptom after running it for 1.5 days. I knew from researches that those symptoms should be caused by either the defrost timer or thermostat. I even also ran a "bypass" test with a standalone wire to connect the hook up connectors pull from the thermostat, fridge still won't turn on until I turn the defrost timer again(while bypass). That confirms the thermostat should be ok. The problem comes down to I had a bad defrost timer, replace it, but even the new one from another site is defective... what are the odds. I just don't want to keep on troubleshooting this old fridge unless I know for sure what the problem is nor worth keeping. So I want to ask do you suspect any other parts that can go wrong with those symptoms? I don't want to invest too much in this fridge. If you do insist that it is still a bad defrost timer, I'll order from appliancepartspros.com this time. Thank you.
