Hello Robyn. Is the washer making any noise from the motor? If not, you may have a bad lid switch assembly WP8318084. It should read closed with the lid closed and open with the lid open. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
