Amber for Model Number 106.536323000 My icemaker on my Kenmore refrigerator quit working. No ice in the trays and it seems like no water coming out of the fill tube. Water still comes out of the water dispenser without any problem. Any suggestions on what the issue is?
Answer Amber, You will want to pull the icemaker out of the unit and check the fill tube to see if it is frozen. If the fill tube is frozen then clear the fill tube of ice and replace the water valve W10408179. The reason for replacing the water valve in this situation is due to the valve seeping and allowing water to trickle in and freeze in the fill tube. If the fill tube is not frozen the remove the cover on the icemaker and remove the icemaker motor module. Check the back of the module in the lower right side when looking at if from the back and check for burn marks. If there is a burn mark on the contacts then replace the icemaker part number 2198597.
