This Icemaker Assembly is an OEM replacement for Whirlpool refrigerators. It is responsible for producing ice cubes, providing you with a convenient and steady supply of ice. Fits models that have the icebucket in the door. The bottom mounting bracket on the old icemaker must be reused.

A bad icemaker can be caused by various factors, such as electrical malfunctions or mechanical failures. It may also become damaged due to excessive ice buildup or regular wear and tear.

Amber, You will want to pull the icemaker out of the unit and check the fill tube to see if it is frozen. If the fill tube is frozen then clear the fill tube of ice and replace the water valve W10408179. The reason for replacing the water valve in this situation is due to the valve seeping and allowing water to trickle in and freeze in the fill tube. If the fill tube is not frozen the remove the cover on the icemaker and remove the icemaker motor module. Check the back of the module in the lower right side when looking at if from the back and check for burn marks. If there is a burn mark on the contacts then replace the icemaker part number 2198597.
