However, the water line should be checked for any possible partial frozen sections, kinks, and also the filter (if unit has one) can impact operation. If the ice maker is calling for water for 12 seconds (can be tested by putting into a forced harvest and testing the valve for 120VAC) then the ice maker is calling for the proper amount of water and the valve is not opening properly (if there are no line issues and the filter is good).
