John Just installed a new #2198597 ice maker in my Kenmore side by side refrigerator. The unit works fine but only produced 3 cubes per cycle (supposed to be 8 cubes). Is there a fill adjustment on it?
Answer John, the ice maker can be adjusted using the small adjustment screw on the right side under the module cover. However, the water line should be checked for any possible partial frozen sections, kinks, and also the filter (if unit has one) can impact operation. If the ice maker is calling for water for 12 seconds (can be tested by putting into a forced harvest and testing the valve for 120VAC) then the ice maker is calling for the proper amount of water and the valve is not opening properly (if there are no line issues and the filter is good).
