Jim for Model Number Whirlpool Model No. GS6NHAXVS02, Icemaker Assembly W10190960 (Part # 2198597) My icemaker stop working. I found it was jammed with ice in the icemaking tray. I removed the unit from the freezed, thawed the ice and reinstalled. The icemaker made one load of ice and then again has stopped making ice. The tray is full of frozen ice cubes but it seems that it will not heat the ice to allow it to be removed from the tray.
Answer Jim, You will want to pull the icemaker out and take the cover off and check the pins in the center of the large gear. If the pins look pushed together or if one is missing then replace the icemaker module. You will also want to take the motor module off and check for burnt contacts. Also check the continuity of the thermostat, the 2 inner pins and the heater, the 2 outer pins. If either does not have continuity then the part is bad and would need to be replaced. Read More...
