Angel for Model Number GEW9250PW0 Hello, our dryer has started acting up. Woke up one morning and it was just unresponsive. I noticed that some of the front LED's are very dimly lit. Was able to get the machine into diagnostic mode (didn't get any codes though), back out of d-mode, and the dryer started working fine again for several days. Now it has stopped working again. We are unable to get it into d-mode. We looked at the tech sheet and ran test with a multimeter on the ribbons & the front buttons & knob...they all gave readings like the sheet said they should. At first we were thinking it might be the front user interface, now we are leaning toward the control board. It (the control board) was very, very dusty when we opened it up & looked at it. I used the crevice tool on my vacuum cleaner to gently remove some dust, but I was out of canned air so I didn't get it as clean as it needs to be...after all those test were done, everything put back together & plugged back in, it came on. It was sort of acting like it was in d-mode, as it would beep when you turned the knob, but it would not start, and none of the buttons had any effect. For the heck of it, I unplugged it, plugged it back in, now it's dead again, with the dim led's on the front. Any help appreciated! Thanks!
Answer Hello Angel. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control panel WP8558756 is bad and will need to be replaced. Make sure there are no loose connections. Also check and see if there is pwer coming to the control panel when the panel does not work. If not, replace the control board WP8546219. If there is power to it and it does not work, replace the control panel. Hope this helps. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, October 5, 2011
