John March 13, 2023 for Model Number Whirlpool Duet Steam Washer I'm replacing the Control board in a Whirlpool Duet Steam Washer. The P/N in the machine is W10343493 Rev B But there's also a Programmed Asm Service P/N which is a different number, W10384504. I've seen parts with the name P/N but then a different Programmed ASM P/N -Do they need to be the same or can the Programmed ASM be different? Thanks
1 Answer John, if the model number of your appliance could be provided in a new question, this will allow the most accurate information to be presented. Generally speaking, we would only recommend using the parts listed by the manufacturer for your model. Read More...

Anthony December 12, 2021 Are control panels for Whirlpool Duet gas and electric dryer interchangeable?
1 Answer Anthony, generally, gas and electric dryers are going to have different components that are not interchangeable, and only by comparing the model numbers for the exact part numbers used would identify if a component is used between two different models. Read More...
Jeffrey December 08, 2021 for Model Number MED9800TQ0 The control panel appears normal, all buttons and all positions on dial produce a 'beep' in diagnostic mode, yet nothing happens when 'start' is selected. Door switch, broken belt switch, thermal fuse all test okay. I feel like the problem must be with the control board (WP8546219), but none of the information I have found refers to this problem. What do you think?
1 Answer Jeffrey, with the main control WP8546219 accessible, the light blue wire at connection P1 pin 4 can be tested for 120VAC when a cycle is started. If there is voltage, the motor 279787 has failed. If there is not voltage, the main control has failed. Unfortunately, the main control has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available. Read More...

Sam for Model Number GEW9200LW0)) your answer was as follows: ((ANSWER Hello Sam, check that dryer is getting 240v (L1 black to L2 red) at the rear terminal block connection, the L2 line (red wire) then goes to the centrifugal switch of the motor then to the heating element. Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, July 9, 2021)) I determined there is 240v coming into the dryer at the terminal block connection. However, the dryer still doesn't heat. Any other suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
1 Answer Sam, with the top panel removed, the main control WP8546219 (part has been discontinued by the manufacturer) would need to be tested at the black wire and the red wire of the black 2-wire relay when the dryer is not heating properly. If there is a voltage reading of 240VAC, the control has failed. If there is a 0VAC reading, the motor 279787 centrifugal switch is sticking and the motor would need to be replaced. Read More...

Wayne July 19, 2020 for Model Number WED9150WW0 Dryer overheating. I replaced the heating element, thermal fuse, new thermostat kit, installed new vent line, cleaned the blower and filter, and the dryer still overheats and blows the thermal fuse. Everything tested good with my multi meter, even the old parts but I figured I would change everything out. I ran the dryer on air dry and it still produce max amounts of heat where the machine and clothes were barely touchable. I'm thinking it might be the control board. What are your thought? I'm trying to avoid buying a new dryer. Thanks in advance for any suggestion you may have. Wayne
1 Answer Wayne, the main control WPW10235613 heater relay would need to be tested while the dryer is unplugged. At the relay, the terminals would be tested for continuity to identify if the relay is stuck closed. If there is continuity, the main control would need to be replaced. If there is not continuity, the heating element would need to be tested for continuity to ground. If there is continuity, the grounded out wire or part would need to be identified ad repaired. Jay May 28, 2020 for Model Number GEW9250PL0 Control Lock light stays on. Clicked and hold the unlock button for at least 3 seconds and nothing happened. I need help.
1 Answer Jay, it is recommended that the end of cycle signal button is pressed for at least 5 seconds or until it beeps. If the control lock will not disengage, the user interface WP8558756 would need to be tested for proper operation. With the appliance unplugged, the end of cycle signal button can be tested for resistance at connection P3 from the wire at pin 12 (with red probe of meter) to the wire at pin 2 (with the black probe of meter). When the button is pressed, the resistance should start showing infinity and then move down to reading between 1 to 3.5MO. If this tests properly, the main control WP8546219 has failed. Unfortunately, the main control has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available. Read More...
Henry May 12, 2020 for Model Number gew9200ll1 i have power to the 220 terminal hook up but where it comes in to the machine control panel but kow responce to star , or lights on the panel , theres a burnt smell on the board .
1 Answer Henry, you will need to remove the power to the dryer, remove the top panel, and check for any damaged, burnt wires between the terminal block and the machine control board, inside the cabinet on the left side above the drum. Visually inspect the board for damage, discoloration, and burnt spots or components. Then restore power and use a multimeter to carefully check for 120 VAC across the P1 pin 2 white wire and the P1 pin 5 black wire. If you have the voltage, the machine control board has failed WP8546219 / 3980062 Control Board. The control board is no longer available from the manufacturer, you may need to contact local parts dealers, one of them might still have it in stock. Enter your part number in a search engine, a smaller company might have it. Try eBay, Amazon or similar sites. Search by using the manufacturer's part number. Also try a used appliance store, sometimes they have the same model or usable part for your machine. Contact refurbishing companies to repair the existing control board. Read More...
