Kcnormile for Model Number GEW9200LQ0 When my 10 year old Whirlpool Duet (GEW9200LQ0) stopped working I replaced both the thermistor and thermal fuse. I also thoroughly removed lint, etc. and checked the condition of the belt. Now when I try to start the dryer, I get a beep and the sensing light goes on, but that’s it. After performing the diagnostic, all the panel lights (all red except end of cycle is green) are on and I get an E3 code. Does it make sense to replace the control board next? Thanks.
Answer Kcnormile, Are you sure you have an "E3" error code ? Did you by chance have a voltage problem or a power outage ? The initial description, would indicate an issue in the thermal fuse or the belt switch being "open" and not allowwing the motor to start, but the E3 code indicates a communication error between the controls. Check the thermal fuse and belt switch first. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, July 11, 2012
