Micahel T for Model Number GGW9200LW0 The automatic cycle does not stop when the cloths are dry. Moisture sensor seems inoperative. I have: 1st - done the diagnostic test for the sensor and get 03 (but no beep) when I put it in test mode, open the door, and put my wet finger across the two metal strips; 2nd - measured "open" resistance across the outer two pins of the moisture sensor cable with the two MOVs (cable unpluged); and 3rd - measured low reisitance across the outer two pins of the mating connector on the digital cable (disconnected from mating connector but still connected to plug on mother board), directions say to replace cable; 4th - removed the digital cable from the mother board and tested the cable's two pins as open and tested the two moisture sensor pins on the mother board as low resistance (hence cable is good). Does this confirm that the mother board is bad? Is there a replaceable component on the board? The dryer works fine aside from this feature. Thank you.
Answer Michael, Something else to check, First reconnect everything and make sure there is no debris or chemical build up on the sensor bar strips. Disconnect the sensor wire harness from the P2 connector on the control board and check for a resistance reading between each wire (P2pin1 and P2pin2) terminal and chassis ground. There should be no resistance(infinite resistance), if there is you've got a shorted sensor harness wire and will need to trace it out. Next check and make sure the thermistor resistance (10,000 ohms resistance) is proper at room temperature. If all checks are OK, then replace the control board WP8546219 Read More...
