Steve for Model Number JES8850AAB I have a Jenn-Air stove. Some of the push buttons do not work. The clock seems to be fine but I cannot set the clock or oven temp with the keys. Can you tell me based on this information whether the Control panel needs replacement or the clock circuit board?
Answer Hello Steve. The first thing you should do is turn off the breaker and drop the control panel. Disconnect the ribbon cable and use a pencil eraser in the direction of the traces so as not to damage them. This cleans them better than any other method I have tried and a lot cheaper than electronic contact cleaner. Reconnect the ribbon cable and try the buttons that didn't work before you disassembled the panel. If it fixed it, you just solved the problem. If not, the touch panel WP74005742 is a higher probability than the control, but the control 74007221 could still be the issue. There is no way to determine which component is at fault without trying the panel and the control, but the panel has a bit higher failure rate when your referring to dead keys. Sure hope this helped you! Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, February 29, 2012
