Glen for Model Number W1TXEMMWQ00 Freezer doesn't seem to be working right or freezing ice also refrigerator doesn't seem to be getting as cool as it should , a friend suggested it might be Defrost timer .... If so where would I locate on an Whirlpool mod.# W1TXEMMWQ00 and how could I test this to make sure it is the problem?
Answer Glen, With this issue of the unit not cooling properly you will first want to determine if there is a defrost issue. To find out you will need to pull the rear wall in the freezer and check the evaporator coils to see if they are completely frozen up. If they are then you will want to do a continuity test on the heater and the defrost thermostat. If both have continuity then replace the defrost control.
