Walt for Model Number Amana side by side SCD??? Have frost building on cooling coils in freezer. Replaced thermostat. Heater coil heats ok when jumped. Went to replace defrost timer and noticed an adjustment knob. I inadvertently turned the knob and heard a click from inside the switch. Could the timer have been stuck and if so do I have to set the knob to a certain location or should I just replace it?
Answer Hi Walt. Yes, you will need to replace the defrost timer if it is not advancing on it's own. This part # is R0131577. The timer has 2-Heavy Clicks (amongst the tiny clicks), You will advance the timer through the 1st heavy click to the next 2nd heavy click. This will begin you in the run - time of your compressor for approximately 6.5 hrs. Thank you. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, July 19, 2011
