Ben for Model Number RF396PXYN Hello, My bake element broke, I bought the correct replacement and installed it correctly. When I turned the power back on and go to the stove, nothing turns on. No clock, No stove top burner nor the oven. When I turn on one of the stove top burners, It reads PF for power failure and does not heat up. Only when I have the stove top burner on can I attempt to turn on the oven. It does read bake and I hear the clicking but it won't heat up. Then when I turned off the stove top burner, everything goes off and it's dead. Is my control panel fried? If so, please tell me the replacement part. Much appreciated.
Answer Hello Ben, I would go to the terminal block WP8203546 where the power cord connects to the range and look for a poor electrical connection. Check it for 240Vac from the two outside terminals. If no poor connections are located, unplug the unit and look on the prongs of the plug for burned spots. If you locate any, the wall outlet is loose and will need to be replaced. If the cord prongs are discolored and the insulative material around the base of the prongs is dis-figured, (look like it has been melted), the cord will also need to be replaced. If no issues are located, try another breaker in the breaker box before proceeding to unit dis-assembly or part replacement. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, June 25, 2014
