Steve B. for Model Number Magic Chef 3868XVW Thanks for the informative response. The broiler does work fine by itself, so I am thinking it is not a terminal block problem. At any rate, how do I access the terminal block on this model? I checked the element and it is not internally shorted to its metal housing in a DC resistance test. At this point the problem appears to be an intermittent short in the bake element or a problem with the clock/controller. If it's the clock/controller, it will be new oven time, as that is a very expensive part (over $250).
Answer Hello Steve. The plug for the stove connects to the terminal block. If you trace the cord, you will find the terminal block. It is usually behind a metal plate on the back of the unit. If it is good, you will need to replace the clock assembly 12001603. Hope this helps. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, September 1, 2011
