Bill for Model Number cre9600bcl I heard a loud pop in the oven. Lower baking element does not work any more. Looks like a small black mark on it. When I replace it, do I just unscrew the two phillips head screws (on smal brackets where the elemnt goes throught he back wall) on the inside of the oven and stick the new element in and screw them back in? Do I have to do anything from the back of the oven or is it all from inside the oven box? Thanks!
Answer Hi Bill. Remove all power. Remove the door and all oven racks. remove the bake element mount screws. Pull the unit out. Remove the back. Remove the wires on the bad element. Insert the new one from the front and mount correctly. then go to the back side and insure tight connections on the element. Also ---- Then tuck in all insulation surrounding the back side of the element to insure the heat will not escape the oven cavity and thus burning wires in the future. This is the total difference in doing a professional replacement or just doing a quick job from the front. The element is part # WP74003019. Thank you. Read More...
