Nicole for Model Number Maytag CRE9600ACW When my baking element shorted, the connector at the end of the red wire exploded. It also burnt the insulation around the end of that side of the baking element. I want to replace the element, but I also want to replace the wire, but for that I need to know what kind of wire to get, and I also need the two ends. One end clips on to the element and the other just attaches to the same power screw as everything else. I only need about 6-8 inches of wire, and one of each end. Does this site carry those parts? How much insulation loss is critical?
Answer Hello Nicole! The insulation loss should not be enough to hurt anything, unless about a 1/3rd of it is gone. Unfortunately, the wiring needed is the wiring harness 5170P187-60 which has been discontinued from the manufacture and is no longer available. Sorry about that! Read More...
