By: Whirlpool
Part Number: OEM18032481
Manufacturer Part Number: WP74003019

This OEM Replacement Part is a bake element designed for Whirlpool electric ovens. It measures approximately 19 1/4 inches wide and 15 1/2 inches deep. The element extends about 3 inches past the bracket to the terminals. The element, positioned at the bottom of the oven cavity, supplies heat for baking. It features male spade connectors with push-on wire terminals. If your oven experiences uneven heating, lack of heat, or minimal heat during baking, replacing this part may be necessary.

Ensure the range is unplugged or the house circuit breaker for the range is shut off before installation. The element provides 2100 watts on 208 volts and 2800 watts on 240 volts. Removal involves unscrewing Phillips screws above the element brackets and detaching the wire harness without losing wires. Inspecting the wire terminals for any signs of arcing or burning during removal is recommended.

Dick B. for Model Number Maytag CRE9800ACE

When "Oven Temp" selected and set, the "Bake" light illuminates and after a couple of seconds, the "On" light illuminates. Neither the top nor the bottom elements in the oven heat up, and no "clicking" sound is heard. For "Broil", the "Hi" light illuminates, the "clicking" sound is heard, and the top element heats rapidly. Is this a switch issue because the "clicking" sound is not heard? If it is, what is the part number and procedure for repair? Thanks!

Answer

Dick, You most likely have a faulty relay on the ERC 7601P200-60 based on your post description (element not hot, and no clicking noise). You do want to check the heating element for a "closed" circuit with a multimeter, and check the yellow wire from the ERC down to the bake element for damage.
