The Front Load Washer Drum Baffle Kit is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This kit includes the drum baffles, which are responsible for lifting and moving clothes within the drum during the wash cycle. This ensures that clothes are thoroughly cleaned by enhancing the tumbling action.

Causes of a bad drum baffle can include wear and tear over time, accidental damage from foreign objects left in the wash, or repeated exposure to heavy loads. These factors can lead to the baffles becoming loose or broken, reducing their effectiveness.

Symptoms of a bad drum baffle include:

  • Clothes not tumbling properly
  • Excessive noise during the wash cycle
  • Visible damage or looseness in the baffles

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Includes 3 baffles. For single baffle only use part number WP8182233. The mounting screw is part number WPY706189.

I'm trying to replace the baffles on my Whirlpool Duet washer. The first one slid into place after a lot of pulling and tugging. For the second one, no matter how hard I pull it won't go on. It is seated in place and I'm pulling forward, but the tabs on the baffle seem to be hitting the tabs they're supposed to slide under in the drum. I've tried to bend the tabs on the drum up a little, but the metal is so hard that it won't bend. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you solve it?

Answer

Sally, Unfortunately there have been no issue that we are aware of with the baffles not going in. You will want to check to make sure that the baffle is fully seated and if necessary us a flat blade screw driver to lift the lip up a little so that it will slide into place.
