Linda for Model Number Kitchenaid Seperba KERC507HBL3 My oven does not heat to temperature. It says it preheats to 350, but when I put in a thermometer it reads 200. When I put the preheat up to 500, it heats to 350. From what I've read, it seems the bake element may need to be replaced - is that correct? If so, I believe the element in this model is hidden on the bottom - how do I access it and change the element? Thank you.
Answer Hello Linda. Remove the power and the back panel on the unit. Then test the element and see if it is closed for continuity. If not, replace the element by removing the wires and screws in the back and slide the old element out of the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
