Pat Jennair cooktop (purchased approximately nine years ago). Knobs to control each burner are labeled underneath as "1" KIP 5A66, "2" KIP 5A66, "3" KIP 5A66, and "4" KIP 5A66. I am unable to read the model number of actual cooktop due to poor eyesight, but the control knob pictured on this site that looks identical to mine is AP4098990. However, I am not give the option to order a "1", "2". "3", or "4". The repairman who was at my house years ago told me that he didn't have the correct knob on his truck so he have us two "2" knobs, a "3" and a "4". The "2" knob does not line up correctly with the OFF stage on the number one burner.
Answer Pat, The numbers you supplied are Dye or mold numbers, not parts numbers. It's very difficult to research parts, especially "cosmetic" parts. Based on the part number you did supply WP74009592, you'll probably be fine. This style and colored knob was only used on two J/A electric black cooktops, and they both fall in the approximate time range you mentioned, So you should do fine. Thanks Read More...
