Wally for Model Number maytag mvwc400xwo I can't get the lid to lock or washer to do anything. When I removed the strike and held it in place and pushed the button, the lid light locked and the sensing started. Of course it stopped after it realized the lid wasnt closed. What is the problem and what part do I need?
Answer Wally, did or did you not have any error/fail codes ? Check for a loose connection or loose wire terminal in the J15 connector of the wire harness, this is the lid switch / lock circuit to the control. There are other possibilities, and your best bet would be to use the tech data sheet, and conduct the diagnostics, automatic and manual test modes so you have a better idea of what the control is seeing or not seeing.
