Doityourself for Model Number 11092580100

Kenmore Washer 11092580100 Your recommended Lid Switch Assembly Part Number: 285671 (AP3094500). This does NOT have the small diameter water level hose [Different from the main large dia water level hose in a separate circuit] attached to my washer's original lid switch. It comes through the same opening as the two black wires, there is NO third green\earth wire in this group [Two black wires and the small dia hose] coming from the same orifice in the original switch. Without that small dia hose (unplugged) the washer overflows...! What do you recommend?

Answer

Doityourself, Apparently there are several misunderstandings, First, you do have the correct part number 285671 for the lid switch assembly for the model number you supplied. Some versions of this style washer do not have a ground wire(green wire) in the machine harness, but the switch wiring is configured to compensate for the wiring changes across the different versions of machines. There is no air dome hose large or small diameter that attaches to the lid switch assembly. There is only one(1) air dome/ air pressure tube WP353244. It attaches to the air bell on the right rear side of the outer tub, is routed up along the back panel of the washer cabinet, (there is a retainer that will hold the hose in position on the back) The air hose enters the top and console assembly through the gap molded in the right rear area of the top panel, along with the wiring harness to the lower portion of the washer(motor, fill valve, etc.), it then attaches to the round attachment port on the water level switch WP3356467. You do need to make sure the tube is not twisted or kinked, and that is has an air tight seal at the air bell on the side of the tub and at the port on the water level switch. You will need to check and re route the air tube and make sure it enters the top assembly through the gab molded in the top assembly right rear area. and make sure you attach the hose to the water level switch port.
