Hello Mrs. Myrs, First off, you have to get way down to see the model number. It is on the I.D. tag where you found the serial number but is practically hidden by the bottom edge of the lid. Also, did the lid fall and hit the lid switch or did it fall against the timer? You need to close the lid down slowly and listen close. When the lid switch is activates you will hear a very low, faint clicking noise. This click is the lid switch. If it fell back on the timer knob, it should have damaged nothing. It is designed to turn the machine off when the lid opens up to contact with the timer knob. If you dropped the lid to the closed position, it damaged the lid switch. I would gladly give a part number, but I cannot look up the part number without the model number. We can happily look up the part number for you if you would please post the model number.
