Sid A. for Model Number Whirlpool Microwave MH6130XEQ-1 Hi, I have an over the range Microwave. I replaced both the bulbs at the base of the microwave and after plugging the cable in the socket noticed that the light stays on permanently. It doesn't respond to the light button on the panel. The button beeps but the light stays on regardless. The microwave functions properly though. What can I do to fix this? Thanks, Sid
Answer Sid, The beep when the button is pressed, indicates the control board recognizes the button, so the issue would be in the relay for the cooktop lights, it's probably stuck closed, causing the lights to remain on all the time. to repair the microwave, you'll need to replace the control board WP8172054.
