Sammie for Model Number GMH6185XVB1 When removing the bulb, the bulb came out, but the part that screws into the hole is still in the hole. I guess from over time using the light the glue separated and just the glass came out. How do I remove the metal part that screws in?
Answer Hello Sammie, The following cannot be done with power to the unit so go ahead and unplug it from the wall outlet. Put on a pair of protective gloves to protect you from the sharp edges of the old bulb and, using a pair of needlenosed pliers, grasp one side of the metal part of the light stuck in the socket. Turn it counterclockwise. This will wrap the metal from the light around the pliers but will be removed after turning far enough. When completely removed from the socket, carefully use another pair of pliers to turn the sharp metal in the opposite direction to remove it from the needlenosed pliers. Read More...
