Mark, For a unit to shut of and come back on about 30 minutes later would be the unit going through the defrost cycle. With the refrigerator section not cooling properly you will want to make sure that the evaporator coils behind the freezer wall are not impacted with ice which would be caused by a defrost failure. At this point you will want to check continuity of the defrost heater and defrost bimetal. If either do not have continuity then the part that has no continuity would need to be replaced. If both check ok and it coils are impacted with ice then replace the defrost control.
