A thermal overload protector that helps prevent motor damage by cutting power if the dryer motor overheats. Fits the motor assembly and restores normal operation once the motor cools. What it does:

  • Detects excessive motor temperature and interrupts power to prevent motor burnout
  • Helps stop the motor from running when overheating occurs
  • Commonly replaced when the dryer won't start or the motor hums but does not turn
  • Can prevent further electrical damage by opening the circuit during thermal faults
What's included:
  • One thermal overload protector
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing to avoid shock or injury
  • Located on or near the dryer motor; note wire locations or take a photo before removal
  • Replace with the correct PN and secure terminals firmly; do not force connections
  • Check motor bearings, start components, and wiring if symptoms continue after replacement

James, First you need to check and make sure you have 120 VAC on the red wire on the overload relay to chassis ground on the compressor, If we have the voltage, you'll need to test the relay overload and compressor. If not we'll need to test the defrost timer and cold control.
