Joyce for Model Number 106720120 This 40+ year old freezer keeps warming up. When I turn it off for an hour or so then back on, the compressor kicks in and it freezes just fine - when it gets down to temperature and turns off, it will NEVER COME ON AGAIN until I go through the process (turn off, wait) again. It makes clicking sounds, but the compressor will not come on. I was told it was the thermostat, which is no longer available, but it sounds like it might be the relay - which IS available. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Answer Hello Joyce. Based on the information you provided, it is neither. The clicking is due to a bad compressor. The reason it will work when you turn it off for about an hour is the pressure equalizes and the compressor can start. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, May 20, 2014
